Terms and Conditions
By using this service you agree to abide by the following terms and conditions:
- The Federation of Family History Societies and the information providers have made reasonable efforts to remove errors from the information provided. However they are not liable for any errors and omissions that remain, or any consequential losses from you relying upon the information.
All indexes and transcriptions of entries, no matter how carefully they are compiled, can contain inadvertent errors. These can arise because the source document may have poor quality handwriting or may not be completely legible. All compilations are solely "finding aids", regardless of how reputable their sources and origins may be. Whilst they may be invaluable as a means of locating information, you should check the original source of that information, or a reliable facsimile of it, wherever possible.
- This information is provided only as a finding aid for your personal use. You are granted a non-exclusive licence to use the information for such use and in any articles or publications for which you are an author or co-author, subject to our Statement on Copyrights.
- All reasonable efforts have been made to obtain the permission of copyright holders where such permission is required.
- A seventy-five year cut-off has been applied to birth and baptism records and a fifty year cut-off for marriage records.
- Any queries regarding billing must be brought to our attention promptly. Please provide as much documentary evidence as possible. The account details and previous searches provide information to help identify discrepancies.
- The system records the use of any stolen and lost vouchers of which we have been notified. You agree not to knowingly use stolen vouchers and agree to help the Federation of Family History Societies, its agents and the police if you have unknowingly used a stolen voucher.
- These contractual terms will be interpreted according to the laws of England and any litigation will be subject to the laws of England.
