FamilyHistoryOnline.net ceased to trade at noon on Monday, 2 March 2009. Most of the records you have enjoyed on this site, have been transferred to findmypast.com, one of the leading suppliers of UK family history records where there are many more records.
You can find out more about this here in these answers to questions we've compiled.
You can transfer your remaining balance to Findmypast.com, where you will be given PayAsYouGo credits.
Exchange your balance for PayAsYouGo credits
In exchange for your outstanding credit balance you will receive PayAsYouGo credits of at least the same value. These can be used to view any of the records at findmypast.com, and also at 1911census.co.uk. If you still have credit on your voucher, you should have received an email from us, which explains how to transfer credit.
You will not have received an email if:
- you mistyped your email address when you signed on or changed it last
- you are using a different email address and have not advised us of your new one
- you chose not to receive newsletters/emails
- your email system only lets through email addresses you specify (a 'white-list') and our email address is not on that list
If you would like to transfer your final credit balance, here's what you need to do:
- Register at findmypast.com, or if you are already registered, check the email address that you registered with.
- Send an email to the customer support team info@findmypast.com
with subject line as Family History Online Account Transfer.
Include the details of your account with FamilyHistoryOnline, including:
Your name:
as well as the email address that you use for your findmypast.com account.

Email address used on FamilyHistoryOnline
- Your PayAsYouGo credits will be added to your account within five working days and you will receive an email from findmypast.com when this has been completed.

What to do with unused card vouchers
Unused card vouchers can also be exchanged for findmypast.com PayAsYouGo credits. In this case you should still follow the instructions above, but remember to include the serial number and password of your voucher in your email to customer support.
Fifteen per cent discount when you subscribe to findmypast.com
In addition to a PayAsYouGo service, findmypast.com offers a subscription service. This provides access to all the FamilyHistoryOnline records, PLUS civil registration records, comprehensive census records, passenger records, military lists and much more. As a special thank you, FamilyHistoryOnline customers will be able to receive a 15 per cent discount on any new subscription with findmypast.com, by quoting the following code:

You will need to enter this code in the box headed ‘Promotional code’ on the ‘Choose’ page, where you select the subscription package after signing in.
