Checking

All entries have been double-checked.

The following errors by the census enumerator have been reported:

RG9/3481 The entry for BENJAMIN and ANN YATES (p14f) should be under BENJAMIN and ANN PARSONS. The enumerator has carried on writing "ditto" for too long. It has been corroborated by an entry in the 1861 voters' lists and research done by the Local Studies Librarian.

RG9/3482 It has been brought to our attention that the entry for ESTHER GRAY and her son DYSON EWICK (folio 41) should be under ESTHER LEVICK and her son DYSON LEVEK. Esther was housekeeper to her brother in law George Gray, and is described on the census as housekeeper and sister in law to him. Dyson is described as nephew, and it would appear as though his name is a result of bad handwriting or mis-hearing a name. Both have been corroborated by other research.

RG9/3492 folio 43 GEORGE SIDDALL, 30, born HADON, Derbyshire and his wife MARGARET, 27, born Durham, ditto (ie Derbyshire) and their two children both born Monkwearmouth, Co Durham. It is highly likely that the Durham is really Co Durham and not in Derbyshire.
