Transcription and conventions used
These three transcript databases consists of betwen 2475 and 3360 records from the 1841, 1861 and 1891 Census Returns from Wadhurst in the County of Sussex.
1841 Census
The data shown for each of the 2,483 individuals is as follows:
- Name - Forenames and surname, as enumerated.
- Age in years, m indicates months, d indicates days, w indicates weeks
- Occupation - as enumerated.
- Whether born in the county of Sussex or not.
- Address - as enumerated.
- Reference - refers to filmed batch of enumerators' books within the HO107/ classification by the National Archives, London. (Reference used by all archives holding these films).
- Folio - stamped number on each of enumerators book - 2 pages
- District - see below for more Enumeration District codes
- Household - schedule number
1861 Census
The data shown for each of the 2,475 individuals is as follows:
- Address - as enumerated.

- Condition - whether married, unmarried or widowed.
- Age in years, m indicates months, d indicates days, w indicates weeks

- Place and County of birth.
