Transcription and conventions used

This database records 157,041 baptisms from eight parishes in and around Huddersfield.

The baptismal records include:

  • Birth Date - often omitted.
  • Register Date - date of baptism
  • Name of person baptised.
  • Name and occupation of father, if given.
  • Name of mother
  • Address within parish
  • Parish name

Note: the father and mother have been indexed as 'other family'.
